Locals and tourists gather in the early evening each night at Sunset Beach to capture photos of the sun dropping into twilight. The beach is known for “cape may diamonds”….little stones polished by time. This little stretch of Delaware Bay beach at the end of Sunset Boulevard is popular for the usual beach stuff like kite flying, fishing, taking pictures, and watching the sunset.From Memorial Day through October, there is also a flag-lowering ceremony at sunset.
